Fall and Winter movies are NOT here to play with y’all! It is about to be a beastly plethora of movie glory and I am all the way here for it. Movies in November and December are going to be suspenseful, impactful, and downright epic. Here are the movies for the month of the November that have some blerdy potential.
- Harriet – November 1st
A perfect example of epicness, a Harriet Tubman biopic is being released at the very beginning of November to set the month off right. Honestly, I wasn’t exactly excited about this film when I first saw the previews, but it has grown on me for sure. I’m excited to see Cynthia Erivo in this role I think she might really shock us with a moving performance, and bring this biopic to life. We can expect epicness, and maybe it’s perfect timing to see a film about a strong black superwoman leading her people to freedom.
- Doctor Sleep – November 8th
A sequel that may be well worth the wait, is the follow-up story to The Shinning with Doctor Sleep. Starring one of my favs Ewan McGregor and continuing the story with a super powerful young black girl. Also, starring as the villain is one of my new favorite actresses Rebecca Ferguson, and I think she will be an excellent adversary in this continuation story. With all of the ghosts and evil beings running around this film it has got to be a decently creepy movie to watch.
- The Good Liar – November 15th
A thriller in the fall based on a great novel…count me in! Especially if it’s a film that stars movie icons such as Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren; I know it is going to be a good thriller. I LOVE Helen Mirren I can’t wait to see how she flips the tables on the conman, if she can at all. In addition to these wonderful actors I am also excited to see a new film directed by Bill Condon the same genius who wrote the screenplay for Chicago which is hands down my favorite musical film. This movie is sure to have twists and turns that we as viewers weren’t expecting and I LOVE when a movie can catch me off guard.
- Queen and Slim – November 27th
The thriller we’ve all been waiting for, the black Bonnie and Clyde. In a great example of what would or could possibly breed an African-American cop killing duo, an unfair traffic stop. The fight we are always fighting in the African American community, the struggle of being stopped and targeted for DWB (driving while black) has been manifested on film through a well-known story. Everyone has heard of the notorious Bonnie & Clyde and now we are given the colorful version in Queen & Slim. I am excited to see what both actors bring to their role, and how the story of Queen and Slim will play out.
As you can see by the list….FALL AND WINTER MOVIES ARENT PLAYING ANY GAMES! And this isn’t even every movie that is gracing the big screen; this is just the ones I am listing. We also have another Terminator movie that has been released this month; and the biopic on a childhood television classic Mister Rogers Neighborhood with Tom Hanks starring, which is sure to be a classic. As far as movies are concerned we have no chill and we are going to be in all the feels at the theaters. I am soooooo ready for it! Which movie are you most excited for this month?
Let me know and thank you for reading!
